What Makes Rangat Different
Rangat sells hand-enamelled bangles at ₹349–999, in a market where a photograph of a ₹99 bangle and a photograph of ours look much the same. This page is the specific list of what is different, and — at the end — what is not.
The colour is applied by hand
Every Rangat bangle is enamelled by hand in a modern meenakari style. Two things follow from that, and both are visible in the product photographs.
The colour has depth rather than sitting flat on the surface, and no two pieces are exactly alike. Slight variation between bangles is not a defect — it is the direct consequence of a person having made each one. Mass-produced colour is perfectly uniform, which is how you tell them apart.
The base is stainless steel
This is the single most important thing about the product, and it is the one most brands at this price will not tell you.
Green marks on skin come from copper reacting with sweat. Stainless steel contains no copper, so it does not mark. It also does not corrode where the plating gets thin, which is what makes daily wear practical rather than occasional. On top of it is 18K gold plating.
Look at any bangle listed under ₹500 elsewhere and try to find the base metal. Most say "alloy", "metal" or "gold-tone", or say nothing at all. We checked seven Indian brands — three of them do not publish it.
Free size
Every Rangat bangle is one size and opens with a clasp. No 2.4, 2.6 or 2.8, and no guessing.
This is the most-asked question we get, and the most common reason bangles bought online come back. It matters most for gifts, where you are unlikely to know the size and cannot ask without ruining the surprise. More on how free size works.
It arrives in a box worth keeping
Every order ships in a handmade wooden box covered in bandhani-print fabric, with a brass latch, potpourri and a printed booklet. It is a jewellery box, not packaging to throw away.
We do this because of how these get given. A ₹399 bangle handed over in a wooden bandhani box does not feel like a ₹399 purchase — and the quiet worry of anyone buying inexpensive jewellery as a gift is exactly that it will look inexpensive.
A year of wear before the first sale
Rangat opened in March 2026. Our founder had been wearing the same pair daily for over a year before that — through Delhi summers, washing up, and forgetting to take them off — to find out what happened after the first month and the sixth. They did not fade. That is why the brand exists at all. The longer version.
The price is on the listing
₹349 for a single bangle, ₹999 for a stack. No enquiry forms, no "price on request", and no inflated original price with a permanent discount against it.

Questions
What makes Rangat different from cheaper bangles?
A named base metal. Rangat bangles are 18K gold plated over stainless steel, with hand-applied enamel colour and free size, from ₹349. Most bangles under ₹500 do not state a base metal at all, which is what makes them cheaper.
Why do Rangat bangles cost more than ₹99 bangles?
The colour is applied by hand rather than machine-finished, and the base is stainless steel rather than an unstated alloy. Those are the two costs. Whether they are worth it depends on whether you want the piece to last past a season.
How does Rangat compare to other Indian anti-tarnish brands?
Rangat is the only one making hand-enamelled coloured bangles in free size from ₹349, on a stainless steel base with 18K gold plating. We compare seven Indian brands on base metal, plating and price band in our anti-tarnish guide.
